Why I think Bitcoin is good thing and our future money

In past I had a “normal” life very far from Bitcoins, but close to global corporates and banking. Even a bit close to regulation. Today it is still normal that when I tell to my old colleagues or friends about cryptocurrencies, I am getting one of the following reactions:

a) you are criminal now?
b) you are hiding taxes now?
c) are you stupid?
d) aha, tell us tell about this scam, that will disappear one day.

I hope I am not completely stupid and I am (at least a bit) not criminal. I pay taxes and do not try to hide them.  Below are few things, why I name Bicoins as a good thing and probably our future money.

Fast, cheap, good – where to invest, version 1, part 2 (table)

Note 2016-02-25: Twino have lowered interest. Today I have updated table in my post

In previous post I told about 3 main criteria (available time, money, appetite for profit) to select platform for investment. I have mentioned need of diversification as well.  Now I will try to compare how platforms qualify needs of different investors.

Fast, cheap, good – where to invest, version 1, part 1

Time to time I hear question where to invest. Once I told that this recommendation depends on several criteria. Let me explain what I had in minds.

In classical triangle “fast-cheap-good” you can select only two of three values. i.e. fast and cheap, but then result may become not so good. When I am getting question “where to invest” I propose you to think about the following 3 components Continue reading Fast, cheap, good – where to invest, version 1, part 1

Return from Secureae (NXT)

Some time ago I tested trading with altcoins. I understood that this is not mine. It is specific area that requires concentration, patience and specific knowledge. But since that times, I have two coins where I continue to invest more. That is SCRT (very cheap today, I think fair price will be over 5000SAT) and NXT(again very cheap today).

Most of altcoins are losing in price, when price of BTC skyrockets. You can buy some of them hoping to get good profit when price of BTC will stabilize or will go down. But speculation on price was not the main reason why I still have NXT. With NXT I have possibility to invest into assets (shares) and make money when price of assets grow and when asset holder pay dividends. I do that investments at Secureae platform. Return Tracking: BTCJAM & Tied vs BTC Loans

I had intention to write a fast and easy post about the result of my investments at BTCJAM. I count result of my investments there since  day of first deposit March 14, 2015. Post was planned to come in 20-30 minutes. But… I got surprise!  Continue reading Return Tracking: BTCJAM & Tied vs BTC Loans

Investment in P2P lending: Omaraha

Omaraha (www.omaraha.ee)  is relatively small, but efficient p2p investment platform from Estonia. Omaraha operates in Estonia and Slovakia. Investment currency – Euro. Investor must be 21 years of age and be permanent resident in Estonia or in any other European Union country.

Omaraha isn’t huge in number of stuff, but I never had any problems with support, both by email or forum. I have never seen any announcement about Omaraha plans to become “Nr 1” or talks about becoming “pan-European” or “pan-world” investment platform. Instead of that Omaraha provide fast and stable interface to invest and monitor results. Continue reading Investment in P2P lending: Omaraha

Return tracking: Bondora

In previous article (Tracking result of investments) I have described general idea how is possible to calculate and monitor return on investments. Now I  like to show how I do it for p2p lending at Bondora (www.bondora.com). Bondora is incredible slow  several last days, that gives me time to write this post.

I took initial idea of measurement from old Bondora forum at very beginning of my investments. At that time forum was quite interactive and even CEO of Bondora was actively participating in discussions. First question when I read about that measurement was “Why? Why do I need that 🙂 Bondora show me my ROI”. But after 16 month of investments I understand that not all is so simple. How to get bitcoins. Exchanges: Kraken

Are many ways to get Bitcoins. I like to start from what I have tried and what I use.

Today the best working and most common way for me is to buy Bitcoins at exchange. If it is not about purchase of your first bitcoin and not about buy of coins for 5-20$ and not about getting bitcoin within 5 minutes and not about the only one and last purchase,  then I definitely recommend to think about creating your account at exchange. Tracking result of investments

Any investment platform can avoid discussion about return on investments.  There are several reasons why it is so.

Bad or not, but different investment platform uses different methods to calculate Return On Investments.  Usually such methods are described and public, but users of every platform are claiming that data provided by platform are incorrect, ‘too optimistic’, ‘do not take into account defaults and overdue’, ‘platform hide some bad data’, etc. It is true to some extend, that platforms are not interested to start their presentations with pessimistic scenarios, therefore users should think themselves how to get real indicator of return.
